Khardungla top- La means a mountain pass in Tibetan, north of Leh, gateway to Shyok and Nubra valleys, and on the way to Siachen Glacier lies the mighty Khardungla pass, standing tall at 5,359 meters ( 17,582 ft ). Built in 1976, it was finally opened to public use in the year 1988, completely maintained by Border Roads Organization ( BRO ), like numerous highways in the region of Ladakh. A quick trip to the top can maybe show you different seasons in a day if you are lucky!
